A HUMAN'S EYE VIEW OF LIVING WITH CATS

11th AUGUST 2016:

The last week or so the girls' relationship has been steadily improving: they feed happily together, play with us together, and enjoy treats together without squabbling or hissing.
Milly is enjoying lots of 'chase me', and seems to like dashing under the blanket-covered footstool, where she (often mistakenly) thinks she cannot be seen.... although her tail is sticking out! Snooze exercises restraint though, and pokes and daps at Milly's head under the blanket, rather than choosing the more obvious target - jolly sporting of her!
Sox and Milly have also been playing - and for the first time have dozed in close proximity without needing to stay alert: Both enjoy the crystals in the front room, and (although they are not completely adjacent) as you see, they were very settled.
(You can also see how Milly's tabby spots are developing.... aaaaah!)

I guess a cats life (if they cannot hunt outdoors) is mostly about play and sleep - and food, if you are Milly! This makes for some sweet pictures, as Sox and Snooze either sleep with their paws under their chin, or flat out - dead cat impression....
sometimes I have to check they are still breathing!

Snooze's favourite spot is the big leather chair: if someone sits in it, she will stare at them, until they get off!
Milly is still a crystal-holic, and enjoys sunshine and fresh air - she still is the one that uses the outdoor gym the most.

The other day Milly was on the table, with as many parts of her body in contact with the crystals as possible: her back against the cathedral quartz, her head on the smoky tabby, one paw on the amethyst cluster, one paw on the white candle quartz.
She also seems to like lying with her head against the amethyst - and I have even found her lying ON the tabby quartz - which is very knobbly!

We are still weighing them, and all are gaining weight - and all are finally over 3kg. Snooze is the heaviest, then Milly (despite her apparent girth - mostly fur??), and then Sox - although it is only when you look closely that you realise that Sox is a very small cat - not long and lean like Snooze.
I especially love her green amber eyes - and her little short striped legs, like a tiny tigress!! (although Milly has the softest coat - like silky mohair, and Snooze the cleanest fur, with great definition between the black and white - especially the white 'eyes' in the middle of her black cape!)

All still enjoy the climbing frames - especially the sky ladder - and Sox is now brave enough to cross the skywalks without too much encouragement. Snooze is the only one that isn't quite sure. although she does like being up high too!
Here Sox is doing her 'I am mistress of all I survey' look....

Today we also had a first - Snooze was on our bed (where she usually sleeps) and Milly came in too - and after dozing on the other side of the bed, she walked up to Snooze, who sniffed her then proceeded to give her face, neck and ears a jolly good washing -
which Milly lay down and enjoyed very much. So that is a very good sign that they are bonding!
We also had an on-line grocery delivery, and shut the cats out in the cage whilst it was brought in, so that they didn't escape through the front door:
their little faces were a picture - Sox accusing.... Milly confused.... and you cannot see Snooze in this photo, because she was standing on the climbing frame trying to shift the lever on the handle and open the door (that is one very intelligent cat!!!)

Maybe you will meet them soon....
